My name is Kyra de Keyzer-van Beek. In 2012, I graduated as a companion animal veterinarian from the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine in Utrecht. After that, I first went to India for six weeks to work in an animal shelter and clinic, and then I started working as a veterinarian in Haarlem. Although I thoroughly enjoyed my four years there, after some time I started to feel the itch. I dreamed of having my own practice — a place where high-quality veterinary care, excellent service, and a positive working atmosphere come together. After a year of searching, I found the perfect location right in the heart of De Pijp. My own neighborhood, which didn’t yet have its own veterinarian — the adventure begins!

Although I grew up with dogs, cats have truly captured my heart as patients. These strong-willed animals require a special approach and a great deal of patience. By making the practice Cat Friendly, I hope to ensure that all cats feel as comfortable as possible with us!

Internal medicine is my particular area of interest. To deepen my knowledge in this field, I am currently pursuing a postgraduate Master’s program in Internal Medicine through ESAVS.

When I have time outside of the practice and my studies, I enjoy strolling through the neighborhoods of Amsterdam or spending cozy moments at home with my husband and our cat, Sfax!
